An air purifier that clears customs in Rotterdam can be blocked in California and unsellable in Riyadh. Market access is a per-market, per-model engineering problem. Here is the requirement map we use when scoping export programs — and what a supplier must already hold for each market.
United States
- NRTL listing (ETL or UL): UL 507 (fans), UL 867 (electrostatic), UL 998 (humidifiers) — the de-facto gate for retail and platforms, though technically voluntary.
- FCC Part 15: SDoC for digital devices (mandatory); FCC ID for models with RF/Wi-Fi.
- CARB: mandatory for California — electrical safety plus ozone ≤ 0.050 ppm.
- EPA establishment registration: required for establishments producing devices with pesticidal (e.g. antimicrobial) claims — ours is Est. No. 98681-CHN-1.
- Prop 65: California substance screening and warning labelling.
- ENERGY STAR (voluntary): retail-preferred; requires AHAM AC-1 CADR data.
Canada
ISED ICES-003 for EMC (mandatory), plus NRTL safety certification covering CSA C22.2 No.113. Our ETL listings cover the US and Canada together.
European Union
CE marking across LVD (2014/35/EU), EMC (2014/30/EU), RED (2014/53/EU for Wi-Fi models), plus RoHS, REACH, WEEE and packaging directives. The German GS mark remains a strong retail signal. Under GPSR, appoint your EU responsible person — your supplier should deliver the technical file; we do.
United Kingdom
UKCA marking, with CE recognition continuing in Great Britain for the relevant regulations. We hold dual CE + UKCA documentation on export platforms, so your channel can choose its marking path.
Japan
DENAN: air purifiers carry the round PSE mark with business notification, tested to J60335-1 / J60335-2-65 and J55014-1. Held across multiple platforms.
South Korea
KC Safety Confirmation (안전확인) to KC 60335-1 / 60335-2-65 — model-specific; currently held on one of our mid-size platforms (KTL tested), extendable to your selected models per project.
Australia / New Zealand
EESS registration plus the RCM mark under AS/NZS 60335.1 / 60335.2.65 with AS/NZS CISPR 14 EMC. Our SQ500/KJ600F-108 platform is registered; other models complete registration before shipment.
Saudi Arabia
SASO conformity via the SABER platform: product certificate (PCoC) plus per-shipment certificate (SCoC), safety to IEC 62368-1, ozone per IEC 60335-2-65 Cl.32.101, and RoHS. Our KZ205 platform file is complete.
The question to ask your supplier
Not "do you have CE?" but: "For this exact model, which of these markets are documented today, and which require new testing?" Any answer short of a per-model table is a guess. Request our compliance pack to see what the table looks like when it's done properly.
