Air purifiers are one of the most documentation-heavy categories on Amazon US. Listings get suppressed not because products are unsafe, but because sellers discover the paperwork after the inventory lands in FBA. This checklist reverses the order: documents first, inventory second.

1. CARB — the listing killer

California's Air Resources Board requires air cleaners sold into California to be certified: electrical safety plus ozone emissions ≤ 0.050 ppm. Amazon enforces it at the listing level. Ask your factory for the CARB certificate number for your exact model — ours include G-24-272 for the KJ300G-A01 platform. No CARB, no California — and Amazon does not let you exclude California by wishful thinking.

2. FCC — two flavors

Every unit with digital circuitry needs FCC Part 15B SDoC (Supplier's Declaration of Conformity). If your model has Wi-Fi or app control, it additionally needs an FCC ID. Confirm which path your SKU takes and keep the test report on file.

3. EPA establishment registration

Make any antimicrobial, germ-killing or "sanitizing" claim and your product becomes a pesticidal device under FIFRA: the producing establishment must be EPA-registered and devices must carry the establishment number. Our establishment number is 98681-CHN-1, renewed annually. Also note: no legitimate air-purifier OEM sells through FDA pathways in this category — treat any "FDA approved air purifier" marketing as a red flag.

4. Prop 65

California's Proposition 65 requires substance screening and, where applicable, warning labels. Get the screening report from your supplier and align the warning language before printing packaging.

5. ETL/UL listing — the retail layer

Not legally mandatory, but effectively required by Amazon's insurance and by any serious retail buyer: UL 507 / 867 / 998 via an NRTL such as Intertek (ETL). Verify the listing number in the Intertek directory — ours is 5012425 on the KJ300G-A01.

6. What "Amazon-ready" should mean from your factory

We built the KJ300G-A01 platform as the reference answer to this checklist — ETL, FCC, CARB, Prop 65 and EPA registration documented per model. See the platform or request the Amazon compliance pack.
